About Video KYC:

Bank of Maharashtra Video KYC or VCIP (Video Based Customer Identification Process) is a streamlined process that allows individuals to open savings account online, without visiting the branch. With Video KYC, the online account opening process is carried out through a secured video call with the bank officials wherein the KYC verification of individuals is done in real time basis.


Eligibility to open savings account online with Mahabank:

  • Indian residents above 18 years of age
  • Users who are new to bank (who do not have any existing account with Bank of Maharashtra)

Pre-requisites to Open Savings Account Online:

  • Aadhar Number
  • Pan Card (Physical Original)
  • Mobile Number Linked with Aadhar Card
  • Device with good internet connectivity (with camera facility)

How to perform V-KYC to open savings account online:

  1. Click here  to start your journey.
  2. Give location access from your phone and also from the web browser
  3. Select your preferred account type
  4. Enter your details as required on the screen
  5. Upload clear photo of your PAN card and signature (on white paper). In case your communication address is different from the Aadhar card, then upload any other valid address proof.
  6. Schedule a video call on your preferred date and time slot with the bank official (at present the video call can be scheduled from morning 10am till 6pm)
  7. Before joining the video call keep all your original documents ready and note the VCIP reference number received via SMS.
  8. You should be in a well-lit area having good internet connectivity to perform the video call seamlessly.
  9. To join the video call, visit here and click on “Video Interaction with Bank Official” option. Enter reference number and proceed.
  10. You may expect questions related to the submitted documents and personal details. During the call, you are required to display your original documents for added verification.

  1. Who can open an online savings account ?
    Any Indian resident above 18 years of age is eligible to open an online savings account through V-KYC.
     
  2. How to open an account through Video KYC?
    Click here & give location access from your phone and browser. Enter the required details and upload your KYC documents. Then, schedule a video call with the bank representative. Keep your original documents and VCIP reference number ready before joining the call. Join the video call and answer the questions based on the details submitted by you. Display your original documents if asked. After a successful verification of your identity and documents in the video call, your online account gets active within 24 hours.
     
  3. What are the available slot timings for Video call?
    You can book your video call by selecting any slot available between 10am to 6pm.
     
  4. How will I get my savings account details?
    Once the Video call is completed and KYC is approved by the Bank, you will receive your account details coupled with internet banking credentials on your registered email id. Alternatively, you can visit here and click on “I have completed Video KYC journey and require my account details”. Enter your reference number, verify and get your account details.
     
  5. How can I apply for ATM, Cheque Book and Passbook?
    Once your online bank account gets active, you will receive the Rupay Debit card (ATM) via post on your registered address within a week. You can apply for the cheque book from our mobile banking application- Mahamobile Plus, Internet Banking or WhatsApp Banking. You can avail your digital passbook through the Mahamobile Plus app. However, if you still want a physical passbook, you will have to visit the nearest branch to collect the same.
     
  6. Can I open an account through Video KYC if I already have a Bank of Maharashtra account?
    No. Online account opening through VKYC is available only for users who are new to Bank of Maharashtra.
     
  7. Can I open zero balance account in Bank of Maharashtra through Video-KYC?
    At present, zero balance account is not opened through Video-KYC.
     
  8. What is the monthly/quarterly average balance required for online savings account?
    For the monthly/quarterly average balance, please refer to the Service Charges of the Bank published on Bank’s website.
     
  9. How can I access mobile banking for online transactions?

    Internet banking credentials are received on your registered email id and SMS. Use the credentials by logging into Bank’s internet banking portal mahaconnect.in.
     
  11. It keeps on showing “Please refresh your browser or allow your location”. How to proceed?
    Give location access from your phone as well as from your web browser.
     
  12. I am not getting the OTP to proceed?
    There might be network related issues with your telecom service provider. You may try again after sometime.
     
  13. I have left the journey in between, how can I resume?
    Click here Or type ( https://onlinebanking.bankofmaharashtra.in/VKYC/#/digitalAccount ) in your web browser and select the option “I dropped off in between without completing full flow, want to continue”. Enter the reference number received on your phone and resume your journey.
     
  14. While resuming the journey, I am getting some error. How to proceed further?
    Clear browser cache and close all the tabs in the browser. Re-open the browser again and then proceed. You will be able to complete your journey.
     
  15. Can I initiate Video call on weekends?
    Yes. Recently, we have started on-boarding customers on weekends also, from 10am to 6pm.
     
  16. Once I book the slot, whether I will get a call?
    No. You have to click here Or type ( https://onlinebanking.bankofmaharashtra.in/VKYC/#/digitalAccount ) in your web browser and select “Video interaction with bank official” for completing the application process on your selected date and time.
     
  17. Can I nominate online?
    Yes. Nomination facility is important, hence, you have to fill the details during the application process. Alternatively, you may also use our internet banking, mobile banking or website to enter nomination for your deposit accounts online.
